It all started before he turned two, but now that he is two I have no other way to describe how uncontrollably emotional Nolan is other than saying, he is firmly in the terrible two stage.
What kills me is that he can communicate with us! He knows how to say what he likes to eat, watch and play. He knows how to tell me, "up", "move", "no", "yes", and zillions of other ways to get his feeling across.
This does not stop the almost constant emotional break downs, the crying, the yelling, the tantrums. They start right when the day begins. I take him out of his crib, he is perfectly happy, that is until I don't turn on the light at the exact moment he wants. Or I walk downstairs too soon, or too fast. I don't let him point at the cats long enough. I don't hold him as I try to get us all ready and out the door at a reasonable time. Nothing I do is right. It's all wrong & it's all worth crying about.
Grayson wasn't like this. He had his share of breakdowns, he still does from time to time. But 2 was a good year for him. 3 was harder, but it wasn't this constant or annoying. Yes, I said it, annoying. I just want to put him down and walk away. No, run away, because he will follow me. And then I would have to lock the door behind me because he will just open it up and follow me in!
I love that he loves me & wants to cuddle & wants me to hold him and take him with me every place I go - but a mom needs to do things alone sometimes too! I definitely pee much faster alone, you know, without a toddler on my lap.
