What's going on with my kids...

This morning Nolan snuggled up to me on the couch and told me, "I want to stay with you forever." Cue the melting heart.

Grayson started Kindergarten this week! He seems to be liking it, there are 2 other kids from his daycare with him, so he fell into step with them very quickly and seems happy. He says he learns new things & has fun playing with the other kids. I have a kid in "big boy school".

He will have homework 2 days a week. This week, it was just one. We did it in record time & the next night when I told him, no there isn't any homework he was upset. "But Mommy, I like homework." I'm hoping he still feels that way many years from now!

This morning he was angry that he had to go to school for the 5th day in a row. It came with a breakdown, but otherwise all seems well there, a good transition I feel!

Grayson also started playing soccer. Last night was his first practice, he said he liked it! The season is only until Halloween, so it's short and sweet.

Karate still consumes much of Grayson's free time. He really enjoys going & is up to his orange belt! This is something I hope will grow with him, that he will love for a long time to come.

Grayson is my clown. He is always looking for a laugh & can always find one. He loves to dance around like a nut. Doesn't matter where he is, he will dance! "DANCE PARTY!" is a phrase heard often in our house.

Grayson also loves to just run around the house in his underwear, and nothing else. He thinks it's funny & comfortable. This always makes me laugh.

Nolan is a giant chatter box, loves talking, loves hearing his voice and is very funny most of the time. Right now he says, "I'm Nolan Zimmer!" whenever he gets the chance.

Nolan is also Grayson's parrot and Grayson is probably the most important person in Nolan's life. There is nothing Grayson could say or do that Nolan just won't eat up, repeat or laugh at. The Nolan belly laughs are the best sound in the entire world & no one can get Nolan to laugh quite like Grayson can. They are really good together, two peas in a pod without question.

These 2 will sit next to each other on the couch & Grayson will put his arm around Nolan, pull him close and they watch something on TV or the iPad. All I can hope for is that is relationship continues to grow & they can find a way to always be there for one another as the years go on.

Nolan and the trains - oh the trains. They are everywhere in the house, his room, the living room, windows, anywhere that can be a track is a track. He knows all the names of the Thomas trains, always seems to want to know more about them, and enjoys many MANY hours of train time.

Summer is coming to an end and I don't even know how. We did go to the beach, we went to South Carolina for a week & spent the time with Aunt Alley, Uncle Chris & Anna. Grayson ate Anna up, and Anna thought he was just the most amazing person to watch and follow around. Nolan, he wasn't as fond of Anna. He was very jealous if I was holding her or paying attention to her most of the time. Sometimes he was fine, but he wouldn't even say goodbye to her when we left. While I'm sad to see Summer end, I am looking forward to Christmas when they are up here for the holiday!

They are happy & healthy... it's really all I can ask for!
